How We Farm

We practice farming techniques much more rigid than federal organic standards.

Our main job is sustaining healthy soils. We incorporate literally “tons” of compost, cover crops, and various rock supplements as needed. We take multiple soil tests each year to accurately know what is going on underground.

Organic compost, sun, well water, and hard work grow our fruits and vegetables.

To aid against insect and disease pressure, we use lightweight fabric row covers and hoophouse structures.

Our chickens eat all organic feed and scraps from the gardens. They live in a converted 1974 Wilderness Trailer, fondly named The Rooster Inn.

Intensive crop rotations are the backbone of our production plans.

Eating the food we grow and listening to good music sustains our energy and joy throughout the workday.
